About Our Founder, Demetria Spencer

It’s never easy leaving your child in the hands of strangers. As a parent,

you worry—What if something happens? Will they be loved, protected, and understood while you’re away trying to provide for them? Demetria Spencer shared those same concerns. After having her second child, she made a life-changing decision: to open her own in-home childcare.

Starting a business from scratch—without a blueprint, funding, or experience—is never easy. But Demetria had a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development and, more importantly, a deep passion for early childhood education. With the help of her loving and supportive husband Tony Spencer, she transformed her cozy two-bedroom home into a nurturing learning environment. For six years, that small space served as the foundation of what would grow into something much greater.

In 2008, a new door opened—literally. Demetria had the opportunity to rent a space in the back of a local church. With more room came more children, a growing staff, and new opportunities to impact lives. Like any business, there were challenges, but Ms. Dee met them with grit and grace.

As the business continued to grow, it became clear that it was time for another expansion. The church space could no longer contain her vision. So she began the search for a building of her own. After months of praying, planning, and searching, she finally found it—the perfect space to call home for her childcare. But what came next tested her resolve.

The building needed everything—licensing, inspections, costly repairs, and major updates to bring it up to code. Each step felt like a new mountain to climb, and there were many moments when her dream was challenged. But Ms. Dee and her family never stopped believing, even when the odds felt stacked against them.

And then, in January 2024, that dream came to life. The doors to the new facility officially opened—a testament to perseverance, faith, and a mother’s love. Today, the childcare center stands as a warm, welcoming place where children are not only safe but genuinely seen and supported.

What started as a mother's concern has grown into a legacy of care, and we're just getting started.
